Our team of volunteers meets monthly to plan and implement activities to improve the business climate of our community. Every member of our board of directors is dedicated to using their skills and expertise to benefit Ashland, Hartsburg and the surrounding communities.

Brandon is a native of Southern Boone County and a Broker for his family-owned company South County Realty, as well as an Insurance agent for our Independent Insurance Brokerage, The Glascock Agency. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Finance and Economics and received my Masters of Business Administration from Columbia College. He enjoys representing buyers, sellers and providing property management advice to clients all over Mid-Missouri. He is actively involved in the community and sits on the Board of Directors for the Southern Boone County Fire Protection District, as well as the Southern Boone Economic Development Council. He is a long-time member of the Ashland Optimist Club and Ashland Masonic Lodge and has served the Columbia Board of Realtors as a State Director since 2018. Liz Heyen has enjoyed living in Southern Boone County for the last 13 years. She has seen a number of changes throughout those years and is excited to serve this continuously growing community as the SBEDC treasurer. Carrie Fischer is a Southern Boone native and currently handles Utility Billing for the City of Ashland. She is also involved and serves on committees with the Chamber of Commerce as well as other community organizations. She has seen the many changes surrounding the community over the years and is passionate about its growth while keeping the feel of small town USA. Matt and his family are transplants to the Southern Boone community since 2005. Since his arrival, he has been active in the community from coaching youth sports to activities director with the cub scouts to holding a board position with 65010 Baseball and assisting in building a weight room and indoor hitting facility on the high school campus. He and his family were looking for a smaller community with great schools and both boys have now graduated from Southern Boone High School with honors. He is excited about developing Southern Boone while retaining the qualities that drew them to the community. He is currently the Direct of ITS with MFA Incorporated. Like many in Southern Boone County, Vicki Kemna is a transplant and relocated to rural Ashland in 2012 because of the area’s convenient location between Columbia and Jefferson City. She has worked for Boone Electric Cooperative, the electric utility for portions of Ashland and rural Southern Boone County, for 29 years and is currently the Assistant GM. Her background is in journalism, public relations, marketing, and human resources. She is past president of the Southern Boone Chamber of Commerce and works with both the Chamber and SBEDC boards to serve the business community in Southern Boone County. Jason is no stranger to life in a small but growing community as he was born and raised in northern Boone County in the town of Centralia. Lonna is a Regional Account Executive with Ameren Missouri. Her role is to build strategic relationships with key accounts and community leaders and leverage those relationships to meet customer’s energy related needs – it takes power to grow a business and a community and Ameren believes that power comes from trusted partnerships. She is an active member of the Missouri Economic Development Council, past board member and executive leadership team for the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce and has served on the United Way of Central Missouri campaign team for many years. She is a life-long very active resident in the Southern Boone community.
