Owning a shaved ice shop had always been a dream of Mary Kacher, so when she moved to Ashland in the fall of 2016 to be near her fiancee, she started researching the business.
With the help of her family and friends, she outfitted and decorated a nice little shop on Broadway that became Shivers Shaved Ice in June 2017.
After making many new friends and a multitude of happy customers, the business was expanded to include Shivers Coffee and Donuts with new morning hours starting last December.
The Coffee and Donut shop was an instant hit in Ashland, and Shivers has become very proud to be a popular stop for many morning commuters seeking something new in the way of donuts and pastries, muffins, kolaches, and even breakfast biscuits, etc. all served with the best fresh-ground coffees in town.
With the spring re-opening of Shivers Shave Ice’s afternoon and evening hours, Mary is happy to announce that they are also going mobile this summer with a Shaved Ice food bus which is being outfitted to serve concession foods like fresh squeezed lemonade, soft pretzels, and other special treats in addition to delicious Shivers Shaved Ice.
The Shivers food bus is available for events, parties, etc.
